Stop Campaign borrowed from www.thelostyear.com - Little RockGeorgia State Representative Buddy Carter is a small business man who discovered our own state of Georgia is sending jobs away!

When we look around us, most of our manufacturers have gone overseas and we really need to get those back.  Are all the tax incentives offshore now?  In the meantime, why send work out of state??  Read all of Buddy’s article as a guest editorial in the Savannah Morning News on Stop sending jobs out of state here:  http://savannahnow.com/node/775667

Have you ever been to the Soda Pop Shoppe on Bull  Street in downtown Savannah?  Let me recommend the chicken salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat!  For old fashioned service with a flair, here’s what to expect.   Homemade sandwiches wrapped and placed in a small paper bag, hot dogs, hand dipped ice cream, milk shakes, chips and soda Pop.  I even get a corny joke when I walk in the door.  You won’t find a website and they don’t take debit cards (yet).  So when I didn’t have any cash the other day, the owner simply said bring it back when you can!  Now that’s service with a smile. And the power of word of mouth advertising?  It still works, because I’m telling you and I’ve told everyone I run into about this.  Did I mention the Moonpies?

Don't Bug my Dog Soap from Nourish SavannahI’ll just say it – our Golden Lab stinks!  No matter what we used he still had an odorAfter a bath with Nourish dog soap

– like a sweaty boy after gym class!   We  just tested a soap from Nourish Savannah on Broughton Street and it really does work!  I am so excited about it, I’m telling you about it.  It’s called Don’t Bug My Dog Soap and the natural ingredients not only clean but take away the “doggie” smell.  That’s our dog Winston drying off after a bath with the Nourish Soap.  Look for it on this page of the Nourish site: Link Oh, they are across from the Gap in downtown Savannah.

A unique student project hit the streets of Savannah on a Saturday in Forsyth Park as facebook came to life.  It was a face to face approach in a reality version of Facebook.  How clever! Here is the whole story:

As social media continues to emerge, while customer service is neglected – perhaps Corporate America will understand that the old way of doing business no longer exists.  This homespun video has a hilarious message with good music and a few “South Park” style scenes.  United Airline’s stock plummeted 10% as a result of this video.  Read more about how the You Tube hit and how it evolved here:

Look for our friend Robert at Goodrich Automotive  on the new commercials for Savannah Hot Deals and bid on your auto repairs.  This is a fun way to get those needed car repairs made.

After a lot of contemplation, it’s time to give up my cherished scooter.  I’m just not finding time to ride it since my schedule changed last fall and I hate for it to sit in my garage.  Interested?  Still looks  just like the day I bought it with little mileage.  My Scooter

SBobYes, I caved today and got over my boycott of Burger King due to the recent SpongeBob commercials with girls and square pants. I realize that kids – which are their target audience, are attracted to bodily functions and love anything with the yellow sponge guy (although I did not like the overtones that commercial had). I look back to Ren and Stimpy and how disgusting most of those shows were, yet we laugh about them still.

I do appreciate BK’s new efforts toward product waste. Here is the clever text from their new Double Duty Box: “A lot of people wonder why it was decided to make a two-cup carrier as opposed to say, a one cup carrier or a three-cup carrier. Well, a one-cup carrier is just called a cup. So that was pretty much out. And a three-cup container would have to be shaped into some strange triangle, and balancing that contraption would be more trouble than it’s worth. So we settled on two. Hopefully it serves you well.” This is made of brown cardboard with colored print but I’m just not sure it’s made of recycled materials or printed with low impact inks.
