Yes, I caved today and got over my boycott of Burger King due to the recent SpongeBob commercials with girls and square pants. I realize that kids – which are their target audience, are attracted to bodily functions and love anything with the yellow sponge guy (although I did not like the overtones that commercial had). I look back to Ren and Stimpy and how disgusting most of those shows were, yet we laugh about them still.
I do appreciate BK’s new efforts toward product waste. Here is the clever text from their new Double Duty Box: “A lot of people wonder why it was decided to make a two-cup carrier as opposed to say, a one cup carrier or a three-cup carrier. Well, a one-cup carrier is just called a cup. So that was pretty much out. And a three-cup container would have to be shaped into some strange triangle, and balancing that contraption would be more trouble than it’s worth. So we settled on two. Hopefully it serves you well.” This is made of brown cardboard with colored print but I’m just not sure it’s made of recycled materials or printed with low impact inks.
