Was scooting past Savannah State on Laroche Avenue and noticed two security folks on new scooters outfitted with yellow coats and helmets. Oops – where is my helmet? OK, should have gone back home to get it, but kept heading to work.

Asked for a to-go box and actually got a non-styrofoam sustainable product at the Moorings restaurant back in Newport - first ever! It was a little flat cardboard box. Heading up to Canada, we stopped in Calais Maine near the border and paid $4.07 per gallon. Canadians are now paying $1.29 per liter (that’s over $5.00 per gallon). Saw several scooters in Newport, RI during our quick stay. Cold and rain don’t stop these folks! Scooter sitings lean toward people commuting or running errands. Excellent chowder at the Black Pearl and wonderful personal service and seafood at Bowers.
